The Spero Difference

In her book, Putting Out the Fire, Founder and CEO of the Spero Clinic, Dr. Katinka van der Merwe, explains that “very few people understand daily chronic pain, not to mention conditions such as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD) or CRPS. These conditions are like an uninvited bully quietly taking possession of your body. It rarely shows its face to the world as it tears you apart from the inside.”

The Spero Clinic wants to change that situation as the only facility in the world offering its unique treatment program. This treatment approach, designed by Dr. Katinka van der Merwe, is deeply rooted in basic chiropractic philosophy which stems from the belief that the body is a self-healing organism, capable of surviving and healing even catastrophic injuries. At the root of this self-healing mechanism of the body is the central nervous system, which regulates pretty much all functions in the body – from the brain to the different organs.
