Teen recovers after nontraditional approach to treating pediatric long COVID.
EASTON, Md. — An Eastern Shore family has much to be thankful for this holiday season: They have their son back. The Smiths are celebrating Thanksgiving together as a family — something they weren’t sure they would ever be able to do again. WBAL-TV 11 News first met Stacey and Mike Smith of Easton in May when their son, Dylan, was suffering from long COVID and barely surviving. Six months later, the Smiths have their son back.
“I’m the best I’ve ever been in my life. So, that’s amazing to be able to say, but today’s great,” Dylan told 11 News.
“It’s sometimes unbelievable just looking at our healthy, happy son because, for three years, he was struggling just to survive every day,” Stacey Smith told 11 News.
