About Dr. Katinka van der Merwe
Dr. Katinka van der Merwe grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa as the daughter of a successful chiropractic doctor. She followed in his footsteps and completed her undergraduate work in South Africa. After immigrating to the United States in 1993, she graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas in 1999.
Dr. Katinka completed extensive post graduate training in functional neurology and biologic medicine. She is the author of two books, “Taming the Beast: A Guide to Conquering Fibromyalgia” and “Putting Out the Fire: New Hope for RSD/CRPS”.
Dr. Katinka practices in Fayetteville, Arkansas with her father and sister. She has gained a reputation of taking on hopeless and severe patient cases and has gained international attention due to her unprecedented success rates in these cases. She treats patients from all over the world, using her Neurologic Recovery Program, the emphasis of which is Neurologic Rehabilitation and restoring balance to the Autonomic Nervous System.
Dr. Katinka now accepts referrals from medical professionals from all over the world, bridging the divide between allopathic and holistic medicine and its roles in severe chronic pain. Dr. Katinka frequently lectures about her approach to treating the autonomic nervous system. In October 2018, Dr. Katinka was awarded Global Chiropractor of the Year in Atlanta, Georgia by the Masters Circle Global for her outstanding achievement in her profession.
