Neuromuscular reeducation is a key part of our treatment approach. Using advanced technology, we help correct dysfunction at the source of your pain.
(0:00) Another cornerstone of our program is neuromuscular reeducation. It is like our version of physical therapy.
We often say that it is like PT on steroids.
When you’re doing this therapy you’ll work one-on-one with a therapist and you will actually be hooked to a machine that’s providing a direct current in the body an electrical current.
This machine is absolutely fascinating because it’s able to identify where there is not proper neurologic communication. So, let’s say you have pain in your hand somewhere between your brain and your hand the communication is broken.
(0:36) It’s not functioning the way that it should, so, when you’re moving through these PT movements, at the same time, this machine, using its current, is going to be able to correct the neurologic origin of your symptoms and help communication flow freely.
So, it’s essentially a physical and neurological treatment in one and that is what makes it so powerful.
A fun fact is that one traditional Physical Therapy movement when you’re hooked to this machine is the equivalent of doing it 250 times in normal PT.
(1:14) So, we’re able to make a lot of progress very quickly with this therapy.
