Over the past decade, the Arkansas-based Spero Clinic has successfully treated hundreds of patients suffering from Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Fibromyalgia, and Long Covid, which has earned them many, many great reviews.

Nevertheless, the real story behind those reviews is this: all of Spero’s patients have traveled a long road. And this long road has one thing in common: chronic, excruciating pain with no relief.

Unfortunately, there is no limit to the number of people who have to deal with long-lasting pain. It’s estimated that over 56 million suffer from chronic pain in the United States alone. More than 17.2 million are in severe pain. According to the National Institutes of Health, chronic pain affects more Americans than diabetes, heart disease, and cancer combined.

Dum Spero Spiro

“While learning how to treat the neurologic symptoms of CRPS, my basic holistic training and upbringing came in very handy. That training has taught me that, unlike the mechanistic approach, the body is not like an engine. What I mean by that is that you cannot just treat different parts, forgetting that every part is connected to every other part.”

Frequently Asked Questions About The Spero Clinic

Due to its singularly unique approach which is so different from simple pain management with medication, Spero gets many questions regarding their treatments, costs, procedures, and more. Yet, despite the complexity of their work, “Spero Clinic negative reviews” remain scarce, as their innovative approach consistently earns patient trust and satisfaction. Some of the top questions include the following.

Is there a CRPS clinic close to me?

At this time, the only place in the world that offers our unique system to treat CRPS is at Spero’s Fayetteville, Arkansas, USA location. For this reason, most of their patients travel to the clinic to enter the program.

How will I know if this CRPS treatment can help me?

As with everything in life, unfortunately, there are no guarantees. Spero understands that many people who come through their doors for help have been disappointed many times before. Therefore, the clinic and its staff will try to do everything in their power to ensure their center is a good fit. Spero staff usually advise people that if their treatment program is going to make a difference, there should be some kind of significant or noticeable change within the first weeks of treatment.

Is your treatment the same as ________ (ketamine, calmare, chiropractic techniques, etc.)?

Spero’s treatment system is specific and unique. The clinic does NOT use Ketamine, TENS units, Calmare therapy, myofascial release, massage, or anything other than their own programs. While Spero’s doctors and staff are huge supporters of chiropractic treatments, it is important to note that Spero’s technique is VERY specific and that no one else in the world provides it at this time.

Should I stop taking my medications prior to care?

Spero does NOT advise that one changes their medications prior to coming here. In treating patients, it is important to compare apples with apples, so to speak. Any abrupt recent change may affect the outcome negatively. Any changes made to prescription medications need to happen under the care of a licensed medical professional. If a patient needs to see a medical doctor while under Spero’s care, that patient will be referred.

Can I be treated even though I have a spinal cord stimulator?

Spero has treated patients with spinal cord stimulators in the past, with the written permission of their medical provider. If a patient has a spinal cord stimulator, Spero staff will assist in the steps that need to be taken prior to care.

How do I make an appointment?

Anyone can contact Spero’s team at (479) 304-8202 or click the “Get Started” button on Spero’s website. By accessing the patient portal, patients will gain information on their journey at the Spero Clinic along with information on what to expect, pricing, patient testimonials, resources, and more!

Do you treat [insert condition]?

Often, patients send emails asking if the clinic treats specific conditions. The simple answer is that the Spero Clinic does not treat ANY specific condition. This may sound strange at first, so let’s explain.
Patients have been conditioned to believe that every diagnosis is treated in a specific manner. In this system, it is crucial to know what a patient suffers from to be treated effectively. Spero’s approach is very different. Their ONLY goal is to remove nerve interference (anything that stops the central nervous system from functioning optimally) and to restore balance to the central nervous system. Therefore, any patient that has a brain and a spinal cord suffering from any symptom, syndrome, or disease involving the nervous system may respond well to their work.

What is your success rate?

While Spero cannot guarantee any kind of specific success rate, clinic staff see many success stories and they try to share that on social media as often as possible. The definition of success is different for every person. Some people experience complete remission and some people find that it is now possible to lead a fairly normal life with manageable pain levels. Given their prior condition, these are giant steps for our patients.

What if I have been sick too long?

Spero has treated patients who have suffered for many decades. Clinic staff have not found that the length of time that a patient has suffered seems to affect their outcome adversely.

Why don’t you accept insurance?

Spero would gladly accept insurance; however, unfortunately, the majority of insurance companies do not reimburse for Spero’s type of care, nor the frequency of care that they recommend. That being said, the clinic will provide a “receipt” or ‘superbill’ with all relevant codes that can be turned in to your insurance company to be reimbursed, whenever reimbursement is allowed.

Is lodging included in your care?

At this time, Spero’s clinic is an outpatient center, meaning that they do not provide lodging or transport. However, the Spero Clinic’s staff may be able to assist if patients need help before coming.
